Default si trany on a dx?

I just read that you can but an si trany on a dx motor, Is this true? I have a 91 dx hatch, if I can put an si trany on with would I get? Would it be an 91 si? I am just wondering because my trany went on my civic and I need to fix it asap!!! and I was looking to do a little something to make the a little faster, at least till next summer when I drop my b16a into her. Any one know how much an si trany will cost?

i believe you can use the trans from any 89-91 si or 88-91 crx si trans. the 88s I believe had a smaller disk area so you would have to buy clutch parts according to what you bought. I believe the si trans would make you quicker but since its just a trans and not actuall hp I wouldn't expect a major difference just quicker shifts and a less sloppy gearbox. In terms of price I paid 200 for mine with a 1 year warranty I have seen them cheaper.
