Default Speedo?

Hey Guys....

i was driving my car and i just got off of a highway called the DVP. Right as i was coming off the "off" ramp i noticed that my speedometer needle had dropped to zero..............now im like.wtf...i have no speed.im basically driving just by feel.and with Rpm's. Anyone know of a fix?. I checked my speedometer cable and it was fine. Anyone know where the speed sensor is located on a 90 civic 4 door sedan?... A couple of weeks ago i had a code for the speed sensor.but after i cleared it it never came back..I need my speedometer back LOL.thanks

How can you check the speedometer cable and not know where the VSS is? :eh: The cable goes from the speedo to the VSS on the trans.

Pull up on the speedo cable at the trans. See if the clip popped out. The cable may not be sitting all the way in the tranny if the clip has popped away. If you checked your cable, you may not have installed it back right. And also,if you take the cable out of the trans, and pull the thing, your speedo should move. If so, it's something inside the tranny that broke. That is, if your cable is o.k. and it's installed right into the tranny. My bet would be your cable popped out of the tranny. I've never heard of a speedo cable breaking. I've heard one squeak, but never seen one break.

Well i wasnt 100% sure if that was the actual sensor. Some other vehicles have their senor by the wheels. If i knew where it was i wouldnt have asked.

And yeah the cable is free, i think the clip may have popped out and its not seated right... i didnt have to remove a clip in order to take the cable out.it came out with ease...Is it possible for the actual sensor to drop deeper into the tranny,i figured that i dropped down deeper and is not meshing with the end of the cable...anyideas......im not to sure wut to do about it actually

thanks for the help still
