Default stripped tranny, need help

alrite so one of the bolts on my tranny mount got stripped..well not the bolt, but where the bolt screws into. it tore up the threads, so my tranny isnt as secure as it should be, creating a vibration throughout my car. im wondering do i have to buy a new tranny, or is there something i can do. i dont want to drill it out and tap it cause id have to redrill my mount (hasport mounts) and i dont think i could do that...but do they make some sort of sleeves that maybe have threads in them, so i could use some adhesive maybe and glue it in the hole and just bolt the mount on ?? i need help! any ideas

that sucks, you should drill it out and tap it.

Take the part to a machine shop and have them do either a "helicoil" or threaded insert.

Yea. I just screwed up my perfectly perfect tranny about a month ago doing a burnout and trying to change gears while doing it. This is why i found this message board for some information. The used tranny i picked up had or has two of the top three holes stripped out. In other words, the top mount that has the three bolts securing it to the tranny has only one bolt holding it on. In other words, it's actually the casing to my trans that has the stripped out threads. It makes some weird sounds, and i'm thinking that's what it is. I'm surely not going to take out my whole tranny again to fix it though. Like somebody posted above, a machine shop should be able to re do the threads. Wonder if they could do it while the tranny is still in the car. It is mounted in two other places if i recall correctly, so i doubt missing two bolts will make it fall out. At least i hope not. I could have just traded out the casing with my old tranny that i messed up, but i did'nt know they were stripped out until i had it almost completely back in.

ya dood the case is stripped on mine too, and i think thats why it is vibrating. and i dont want to drill it out and tap a new one cause then that means i would have to drill my mount holes bigger, on the mounts, and i dont want to do that..i dont even know how that would work...its hard to drill a hole over a hole thats already there..
