Default can this be replaced?

I had noticed that the steering wheel on my ef hatch was loose, so I pulled off the H logo and tried tightening the nut, but it wouldn't catch. So I take off my wheel and find that the nut doesn't thread over the steering shaft AT ALL. It will slip right over it. So, I need to know if the top piece of the shaft is replaceable. I've attached a pic of the shaft with the nut on it.
I don't know how an aftermarket steering hub secures itself to the steering shaft, so I'm not sure if that will fix my problem.

So take a look at the pic if I haven't been clear enough and let me know if you happen to know whether the tip of the steering shaft (pictured) is replaceable. I took the pic at night with a flashlight and my camera phone, so the quality ain't so great.

You might be able to rethread it with a tap and dye.

I doubt you can get that off... you will probably need a new steering column.

Trying a die of one thread size smaller and a new nut to fit would be the best thing try try first off.

Aftermarket hubs are still secured by that nut, so that won't help.
