ok, that's it!
I no longer think civics are great cars!
...I've had several outa-wack, crazy problem that are goin on with my civic hatch and whenever I post, not only do lots of other people have the same problems with the same type civic as I have but they can't even get it figured out...cuz these type problems are just not normal!
I'm talkin' buzzers that won't stop until you turn the car off cuz god forbid someone got in/out the car! sqeaking pedals and gauge lights that just plain don't work and engines going bad in 150,000 miles...I mean these are the kinds of problems that will drive ya nuts (and the kinds of problems i expect from chevys and fords, not hondas) yet they haven't even created a fix yet for most of em cuz these problems are crazy not average maintenance I'm gonna forget puttin thousands of $s in my damn car, cuz its got gremlins! and just buy some cheap explosives to get rid of the whole dam problem instead!

All the problems I have had with my car I was pretty much able to fix and it has all costed me about 500 dollars total give or take .... The squeaky problem I wouldn't really worry about it cause nothing bad has happened to mine yet to make me worry but it squeaking.....DONT WORRY BE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!
I never had any problems with my old Civic. I think yours is allergic to noobs. :chuckles:
If it where my car, I'd cut out the buzzer, oil the pedals, and rip out the dash to play with the wires... perhaps wire in an aux switch to power the dash lights to save time.

Rule one for sqeaks. If it squeaks, oil it or lube it somehow...
Bulbs burn out after ten years or so, and so does the factory lube. It's assumed by the car maker that the owner will do some small things here and there to keep the car working right, like changing bulbs and lubing sh!t.
And no Honda engine should ever go bad after a measly 150,000 miles, unless it constantly abused and never maintained.

My car has been regularly maintained by me since 107,000 miles. I've absolutley babied it to the point of ridiculous-ness. It hasn't been constanly abused or abused at all by me-and since I regularly have people tell me it looks brand new, it seems crazy to think the same owner who kept it in that shape until I bought it didn't do the same. Its hard to keep a car in such great condition, its not something that you go out of your way to do if you plan on abusing it mechanically or keeping until 107,000 miles if you buy it new.
That's also what the mechanics who've looked at it think. I mean they can't find problem-one with the engine that would suggest any abuse. Not a drop of oil or leak anywhere to be seen under or on top of the engine (with the exception of my recently stripped oil pan-which hear is normal at this milage). and I've taken it to a few different mechanics and specialists to look at and even had a couple mechanic relatives look at it, all say it looks to have been maintained immaculately. The engine going at that many miles just isn't right...
I paid more for my econo honda (paid under bluebook) than most pay for their luxury ford or chevy and yet their cars still get many more miles than mine has and thats the main reason I paid more for my honda-it was suposed to be more dependable and long lasting than chevys and fords! Now I must put literally thousands of $s I don't have into it to keep it from the junk yard...I haven't abused it at all and I doubt seriouly the other owner did either.
Who knows why? Just the way my civic crumbled I guess.
I only hope my next engine holds up better...I LOVE MY CAR....I JUST CAN'T AFFORD IT!
if the previous owner did not maintain the car and did modifications that were not done correctly it can cause quite a problem with your car...i recently bought a 944 porsche and now have a lot of work to get the car in a reliable running condition...the previous owner did not do standard maintenance but i negotiated the price down to account for that
