Default drilling...

Well, I bought some rear seats off of ebay for my 89 crx, and I'm gonna need to drill some holes to mount the seatbelts to the chassis with. My dad has a 3 amp drill, I don't know if that's enough. I've never drilled a hole in my car before, so if somebody has something to say, "Now's the ****ing time!"

thanks.

Make sure there's nothing on the other side of the planned hole... like the gas tank.

Holes in the gas tank is a bad thing.

That drill should be fine... Your drill bits will be what you should worry about. Get a good carbide tip bit.. otherwise you will probably be spending a long time and a few broken bits getting through. Carbide bit will cut it like butter

Center punch where you want the hole to be so the drill doesn't walk around, then drill a small pilot hole and then ream it out with a larger bit to the size you want.

Center punches are for pussies... and cheap guys like me. If you can't hold it there by yourself, you're not good enough to drill a hole there. :chuckles:

But really, a punch is a good thing to have. If not, at least use a large nail or something to get a similar effect.
