Default PG7 ecu trouble

i just did a dpfi to mpfi conversion and did a engine swap from sohc zc to dohc zc. and the only ecu i can run is a pr4. why does the pg7 not work??? do i have to swap 2 wires on the dizzy (i believe the 2 white wires?? not positive) Can someone please help me.

An 88-89 PG7 will run it with the right wiring.

An 86-87 PG7 won't run it at all.

how do i know if i have the right pg7 ecu

They should have the date on the ID sticker... my spare is an '87 dated 7/87 IIRC, one of the last '87s. I think '88 production started around 9/87.

one says 87-2-20 and the other says either 88 or 86-11-12
i got one out of a 88 and the other out of a 88 or 87 dont remember.
but on this ecu don't i have to switch the white wires on the dizzy plug??
