Default MAP sensor & EACV

Hello everyone,

I need some help trying to locate correct part for my engine. I just picked up a 91 Civic Si with a SOHC ZC engine. However, the computer code is throwing three different codes. One is code 3 the other is code 13 and the other is code 14.

I know one of the codes is for the MAP sensor and the other is for the EACV. Now my question is do I order these parts as if they were for a 91 Civic Si or are these parts non interchangble with this engine and if so then what year, make and model should I order them from? Should the come from an integra 90-93? Anyone that can point me in the right direction I will gladly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Juan

Honda uses the same MAP sensor for a lot of their cars, you can replace it with a 88-91 civic one or latter model. For idle air control, I'm sure you can use one from a d16a6.

Sohc ZC is pretty much identical to the d16a6 motor except it probably has slightly higher compression.

Okay I just looked under the hood and come to find out the MAP sensor isn't even hooked up so now I have to go locating the plug or at least the wires to it, but as for the EACV it looks different than my D16A6 set up. I also have an 89 Si that's how I'm comparing things. I'll try and post up pics of both so that anyone here can help me decifer it and let me know for what type of Make & model I should order it for.

Thanks for all your help!

Before you go off and buy a new one. I suggest you unbolt the idle air control valve and spray the screen in it with carb cleaner. They're usually filled with lots of carbon. Also spray the holes in the intake manifold that the valve lines up with.

Again thanks e30, but after I posted what you qutoted up above I went outside noticed something was unpluged right next to the stock MAP sensor plugged back in car started up and the only code I received was #3. Now the car warms up and idle fine, but after a few seconds of it being up to full temp. it will just shut off no bog or anything and will just crank and crank, but not fire up.

Does anyone know what else could be wrong or will the MAP sensor cause that to happen. Any suggestions?

Thanks
