Hmm... I've never pulled a FWD transaxle in-car. I've only done it with the entire engine/trans combo already out. Sorry I can't help.
I've never had to because my Hondas where always too reliable. I've pulled my current RX-7's trans a few times now, twice because it was blown. RWD is a different story though, you just unbolt it and pull it off from below.
I guess you don't know anyone with an engine lift?

not that i can use. i was thinking of swaping it because i have an hf trans and dx half shafts, different splines pluss the trans has 300,000 miles 100,000 very hard miles so might be good.

you should be able to pull that tarnny out from bottom.when you onbolt the tranny from the block, loosen the motor mounts so that the engine can move more freely, and unmate the tranny as far as you can (make sure the splines clear). Once the splines are clear you can jack up the block (with wood on the jack not to damage oil pan, and jack at rear of block closest to tranny) and the two will seperate via back of block tilts up, front of tranny tilts up, Thus back of tranny tilts down leading to floor, jack, or your head whichever is in the way.

yea firefastsi is right. the only thing i have to add is if you can get ahold of another jack it makes puting the tranny back in easier. jack the tranny up with the jack and have another person line up the tranny.
i replaced my clutch on my 88 dx about 5 months ago. had to go about it in a similar manner. the hardest part is gettin the tranny back on. its easiest if you have two or three people working to get it back in. i had two (myself and a friend). it wasnt exactly easy to get everything lined back up. good luck to you.
