Well im bord and waiting for my new motor so im going to try the dx head on hf block to once and for all see if the artical was right. i figure im tossing the motor anywase its got 300,000 miles on it so why not test a thory first. i will post the results in a week or so when i get the head installed. taking friendly bets on how long you think this will last, im giving it 1/2 hour running max, you?
it would be neat to know...i bet it will last a long time...the d series engines are pretty bulletproof and you have to significantly abuse them to really ruin them
wont the motor be damaged instantly? i thought hf's are 12 valve, and the dx is 16 valve. wont there be instant piston to valve contact, since the hf will not have valve reliefs designed for 4 valves per cylinder? or am i totally wrong?:dunno:
If I'm not mistaken, all the pistons came with the 4 valve recesses. Open it up and let me know, cause someone is asking about my B2 block for use in a 94 DX.
its not really a waste of money, i have all the dx parts anyways and im teaching my girlfriend about cars because she wants to help me with the real swap so times not a real waste ether. and one of the questions i want to answer is wether the 8 valve hf block has 8 or 16 valve pistons.
