Default A visit from the enemy!

I'm planning on putting a new bodykit on my '89 CRX so I've started fixing some rust spots(small ones, thank god). Then I remembered something I saw in a thread somewhere, can't find the thread now. What I recalled was that the CRX is notorious for the rear bumper beam rusting out...so I checked mine. :eek3: :upset: My first thought was "OH F*CK!!!". The top part of the beam where the bumper attaches is half eaten away by rust  . Not good, not . Who else has had to deal with this, and what did you do to remedy the situation? I'm afraid to call the dealer to find out how much a new rear bumper beam costs :barf: . Any help and recommendations are appreciated.

I'd like to know about common rust spots too.

Yeah, with that kinda info we can take protective measures before they get ridiculous  ...like mine. Another spot that was kinda bad was on the drivers door. Rust was growing from one of the door cap holes underneath the plastic trim. Was about a 4" diameter of infected area. One more spot worth mentioning was the bottom corner of the front windshield on the passengers side. It is about a 2" diameter area. I got the majority of it. The only problem is I can't tell how much rust is underneath the windshield gasket without taking it off...that I'm not excited about doing(or paying someone to do).

I'm guessing that these may be common rust spots:dunno:. I only say this because I've discovered my car has the original "barbados yellow" paint and no major bodywork has been done to disturb it...only the clearcoat has been peeling off for some time now.
