How would you respond to the consideration of a supercharger(JacksonRacing or Vortech)? I get mixed responses from people I know locally about the applications of SC or Turbo; pros and cons.

Anything I say about superchargers is going to be negative, because I am biased against superchargers on small engines.

It doesn't help that Jackson Racing superchargers have a bad rep for leaking.

I like the idea of them better though because of the instant throttle response.

Sounds from an SC? Never got to hear what it's like. Turbos have the blow-off, but I guess it isn't too bad. I remember overhearing a friend talking about how to virtually eliminate the lag time on turbos, can't recall details so I'll have to ask him.

Well, I would like to keep the handling. An H22 compromises that because of it's added weight? What are some suggestions to keep the handling with some more umph... a GSR, B16, or Type-R motor? As far as rice is concerned...no whale tails, windshield washer lights and crap like that. I'm leaning towards a Regular or Flared Mugen Bodykit and a few little ideas for custom creativity. I like to kinda personalize my projects, after all I want to build something that looks the way I like it, not make everyone else happy.

it's not the problem of added weight that affects the handling, it's the fact the motor's overall size is too big to just drop it straight in, B16's and B18's are a direct drop in, and you can get some good times out of either engines. personally, i'd run an LS Turbo set up. which is the 1.8L DOHC non vtec. my friend has that in his CRX and at 11 lbs of boost he is hitting a 13.03

Is it a bad idea to run Turbo on a VTEC motor? I'm not a mechanic, so technical info like that I'm ignorant about, but I'm pretty savvy when it comes to using tools, building and fixing stuff. Growing up assembling models and making spaceships out of Legos helped with that
