Default Tire width

So I've been looking for some new tires for when I got home and I realized that there's a few different widths you have to choose from. What's ideal for primarily street driving and occassional autox? Or should I get a different set for each?

The standard is pretty much the widest tire you can safely fit on that doesn't rub the body or suspension. What size wheels are you using?

It is nice to have a spare set of wheels/tires for track days, maybe some Azenis or something, while keeping on the car a more affordable, higher treadwear tire for street driving.

Well, right now I have some generic tires, I don't know what they are because I'm thousands of miles from where my car is, but I know that they're def not toyo's or some real durable type. I just want to get a set of tires that are pretty wide then huh? But not wide to the point where it looks stupid when it protrudes from the wheel well by like 2 inches and it looks like a damn dune buggy. What do you recommend like 16" x 7" ?
