Hey! I am about to order a B16A Motor for my 90 CRX and will probably need a lot of help. I hope you guys can answer some of my questions. Does anyone know of a website that has a good accurate how to guide on this swap? And has anyone ordered there B16A motor (the complete changeover swap)from HMOTORSONLINE.COM and was the motor good? Should I trust to get my motor there

 

i've never ordered a b16 from hmotorsonline, but I have 3 other motors. 2 h22's, and one b18b, and they all where in great shape, especially the b18b. There pretty good guys, and do a good job with shipping. But I was thinking about buying a b16a motor from totaljdm.com (aka total-boost.com), but I have no previous experience with them, if anyone else has, let me know.

I've got plenty of info on the b16 swap, maybe even a complete write up, dunno, will have to look. Send me your email address, ill see if I can send anything of good use. Theres also lots of info on the net and in these forums as well. Thats where I got most of my info.

P.S. you wont need to order the complete changeover from hmotorsonline. I might be wrong, and correct me if I am, but the only difference between the complete change over and just the "engine,tranny,ecu" is that the complete change over comes with the shift linkage, axles, and engine mounts. All of which im pretty sure are useless. And you can buy all those parts brand new and modified for your car from HAsport.com.

 

it costs more to buy it individualy and you will need the linkage and the axles anyways so might as well get it all at once.

 

Mainly my question is if I order the complete changeover from hmotors can I use all of that? I am askin because someone told me before that if I order the complete changeover I will still need to buy mounts, harness, and axels from Hasport because I can't use the ones from Hmotors. Can I use the mounts and everything from hmotors?? Is it a direct bolt in?? thanks

I put a B16A into a hatchback and got the shigtlinkage welded, mont, harness and axels from hasport. I don't know if the b16a is a direct bolt it with the stock mounts..I don't think so but I could be wrong as around and find out, or order the engine and try it..if it don't bolt in buy the mounts

 

does anyone know if the b16a bolts directly into the 90 crx or do I need mouts from hasport. I know the monuts from hasport or better but money is really tight right now so I cant really afford them. I have heard many views and they make sense. Soeone told me it won't bolt in because the b16a is a B-series engine so you need custom mounts and then again someone told me the b16a comes stock in a 90 crx in japan so it would bolt right in a 90 crx in usa. Someone help me!

what else? can I use the Si harness? or do i need the hasport one too? why does hmotors sell the complete change over then? Can I use the shift linkgage or axels that come with hmotors ? where di you get you b16a from? so all I should order is the motor tranny computer...and then get the shift linkage and axels and mouts from hasport then?
