Default is this possible on a 4cylinder engine.

is it possible to have a dual exhaust system with vapors coming out of both mufflers on a 4 cylinder. i read some where that vapors come out of one and the other muffler just for looks. but my dad, who knos way way more about cars than i do says its possible. something or rather about have the the first and third cylinder, and 2 and 4 cylinde with 2 exhaust manaifolds. i guess that means u would need to have 2 headers. well just wanted to kno who was right. thx

Your dad is talking about doing a 4-2 exhaust system, which would require some hacking of a header. Dual exhaust on a honda I-4 will hurt your exhaust velocity and cost you power though.

Not to mention that a non-functional dual exhaust is very ricey...

Yes its called a Y pipe, splits the exhaust like a fork just send one pipe to one muffler and the other to another muffler.

Possible? Yes.

Practical? No.

I just converted my car from the factory Y-pipe dual to an aftermarket single. There are many good reasons to stay with a single.
