if you are swapping a ZC engine into a USDM Si EF, you don't NEED any additional parts. if you want to make it a "true" zc swap, you'll need to have your Si ECU chipped with the zc chip (almost always available on ebay, like $25). this changes the fuel curve and redline. if you have a dx, you'll need the fuel injection (MPFI) and ECU from an Si, plus the chip if you want it. i know the CRX hf has the same fuel injection as the Si, but the ECU is prolly different. i've only looked into this for the dx that i had and the Si that i now have, so i'm not sure about the hf info... and i don't know anything about the B16 swap cuz i haven't researched it. my info is for swapping into a CRX because that's what i have and have researched... since you didn't say what car, it may not apply but is probably the same for other EFs

ZC is weak. you won't notice any difference if going from d16 to zc.
LS is Weak. not a high reving motor.
B16 is your best bang for the buck. You can upgrade a lot on it.
H23 is the powerhouse.

anyone can blow a zc engine but they are reliable and quite strong for 1.6 liters and no vtec to help them...and your opinion is plain unfounded

zc is pretty much just a non vtec b16 if u think about it.... add about 30hp from vtec and you got 160 just like the b16. zc's are not bad at all, i could actually hang alright with my almost stock zc in my crx against a b16 hatch.
