91 Civic oil drain helicoil?
Good morning,
I was changing my brother in law's oil over the weekend and his drain plug is pretty cross threaded and barely holding. This is a 1991 Civic DX, 1.5. Does anyone have the thread info for what helicoil to purchase in order to remedy this?
Thanks,
Bogatyr

Not sure what the helicoil size is, but it's been my experience that it's just as easy to change the whole pan as it is to try and helicoil it without depositing metal in the bottom of the pan.

id either replace the oil pan as 1stgencrxer suggested or completely remove the oil pan drill and then retap the pan from scratch and get a new properly sized plug with the matching diameter, hope u have a good set of taps and a nice tap wrench. i would not suggest drilling or retapping the oil pan without remove it because if u ever get some metal shavings in ur engine oil sump u can kiss ur engine goodbye
