Starter only does something when you are starting the car, once the car is turn on the starter is just dead weight. When a starter dies it doesn't crank at all, which doesn't seem to be your problem.

If idle is low and car dies I would say it might be a Distributor problem.

do a tune up and change your fuel filter. The bolts were a pain on mine but you will probably have fixed your problem by changing that.

your first check should be the idle...if your idle gets too low it could cause stalling...only thing you do is to turn the idle screw on the throttle body...it should be idling w/o a/c on and when the engine is warm around 500-600 rpm at the minimum

I'm having the EXACT same problem....FIRST...check to make sure your rotor isn't loose but still in good condition. If that's OK, then I'd say it's the ignition coil (ignitor). I'm replacing mine tonight after work. And hoperfully that'll fix the prob.

Also check to see if you're getting a spark from your plugs....if you're getting no spark, then do the above, if not, it could be a fuel flow problem....does your fuel pump turn on when you turn the key on??

We have the same symptoms, but maybe not the same problem.
