Default Its kind of like a small roar roar?

Hey I know it sounds crazy but I have a roar roar coming from the front end somewhere. I just bought the car because i got a good deal and i really like the way it drives. I knew it needed some work but im having trouble getting started...I don't know if it is the wheel bearings making this roar or a cvjoint? Has anybody had this problem before and what did you do to fix it...I searched some other threads and someone had to replace a trany but still no help on what it sounds like...I hope its not a trany!

While im at it I might as well put a list up of other things that need to be fixed and if anyone has any hints or links to DIY this stuff it would be great...

1.) Code is EGR lifter or something...Autozone says I need a new egr valvle which is not to hard to DIY...also how do you clean this egr port out because ive done my research and you have to clean it but nobody tells you how to clean it?

2.) Oxysensor...the upper one...where is it at and any hints on changing it before i got a break something?

3.) And this might be an easy one: when i turn on my blinkers all the lights in my car dim/blink every time the blinker blinks...I was thinking an old battery or a going dead altinator...does anyone have any other clues?

4.) Also who knows where I can a get some cheap Acura CL keyless remotes? I priced them at $40 each but I believe someone has to have them cheaper...

Default So this is how you clean the EGR out!

I don't have pics because it was a rainy day when I did this outside and I couldn't bring the camera out in the mess...

Since i couldn't find a good write up on this a tried to make a detailed one here...

Anyways here are the steps to Cleaning out your EGR valve and Intake Manifold for an Acura or Honda Accord V6 Engine.

Tools and Chems:

12mm and 10mm socket and wrench. Alan Wrench full set to get the right size. Philips and flat head screwdriver. Drill bit (just bring your set so you can find the right size) for the carbon because it will be solid inside the EGR port. Needle nose pliers for all those medal clamps on the rubber hoses. Duct tape to cover up the ports that go to the combustion chamber. Shop Rags. Gojo. Seafoam. And a degreaser like purple power or gumout carb cleaner. A round wirebrush (medium as you do not want to move medal you want to move carbon).

Parts:

You may need to buy an EGR valve depending upon if yours still works or not. Throttle body to intake manifold gasket.

Procedure:

First, idle engine for a couple of min.
Second, take the small hose from the brake booster (location is above PCV valve and at the right back of intake manifold on engine) a loose from plastic and stick into Seafoam container SLOWLY. Draw about a 1/3 pint...seafoam usually comes in a pint so go with 1/3 of the container. Shut the car off for 5min. Turn car back on and scream because it is smoking out the tailpipe. JK this is normal it should be a white cloud of sea foam...no this isn't sea foam this is carbon breaking down and burning away!

Ok once the white cloud goes away after 10min of idle or more going down the road bring the car back in.

1.) Take off the intake pipe...(big round rubber pipe idk it's literal name)
2.) Take off all plastic on top of engine that will get the way of taking the plenum off. Should be about 5 or 6 pieces.
3.) Take off the pcv valve from the engine. Take off the Sensor beside the brake booster. Take off rubber hose beside break booster. Unbolt Throttle Body (the thing that the big round rubber pipe was connected too) Do not take any hose or wires off of this it should only be separated from the intake manifold plenum.
4.) Take off the intake manifold plenum (loosen 6 bolts and 3 nuts).
5.) Disassemble the intake manifold plenum from the intake manifold chamber. Keep all gaskets up to this point and beyond. Many people recommend getting a new gasket for the throttle body to intake manifold though so discard that if you got a new one.
Ok all you should have is the intake manifold bare with nothing on it not a sensor or anything.
6.) Take your degreaser like purple power or something and spray the inside of the intake manifold down real good. Get your wire brush and work at the inside of the plenum mine had a lot of carbon build up on it...once finished though you should see the color of medal not black carbon.
7.) Take drill bit and drill the egr port out it's the smallest hole on the plenum before the 6 big holes. Drill that port making sure you don’t drill medal so get a smaller size than the whole. Mine was stopped up completely so I had to drill all the way through a firewall of carbon pretty much...
8.) make sure the thing is spick and span.
9.) Now go to the engine and duct tape all 6 ports that go to the combustion chambers. Clean the square to round egr port at the end with a bit. DO NOT DROP BIT INTO THIS WHOLE! If you’re scared you will drop the bit then just use a flat head screw driver this port shouldn't be clogged as much as the one on the plenum as this one is a little bigger. Do not use Chems in this hole.
Ok wipe your engine down if you’re anal like me and want these areas to be clean.
10.) Take two bolts off EGR valve, take off electrical wire connector, and take off EGR valve. There should be gunk down there two... clean that out also if you can. Clean EGR valve if you can. You may need a new one if it’s real bad.
11.) Put everything back together (after it has been dried and preferably air hosed with a compressor) the way you took it a part. Replace EGR valve gasket and throttle body gasket when putting it all back together oh and clean that throttle body out it is probably gunked up to a degree too.
12.) Once everything is done...I would put a little more of that sea foam in there and follow same procedure as first time.
13.) Ok get your local parts store to clear the CEL code...see if it comes back up. If it does you need a new EGR valve that’s a $134 at parts store or over $200 at dealer parts.
14.) If your engine is like mine you will need to replace the O2 sensor...get that done too and that’s another DIY but not as hard.

Conclusion:

This should be a 1:30 max for the unanal.
This should be a Saturday project for the anal who want it to be perfect and clean.

I got the EGR code cleared at Advance but the O2 sensor is still coming up. Now I have to replace that a lone with new belts and a new driver side wheel bearing...wow so much but still a great car. Also I also need to clean all the acid off my bat because I think that’s what causes the light to dim when the blinker is on at idle. Doesn't do it when the car is going. Also bought the $40 plus $7 shipping for the keyless remote...Google your FCC ID: on the back of your remote.

It was the wheel bearing. But the bearing is curently stuck in the hub sitting in oil to losen it. Can not wait to get my car back from the shop because im out of transpertation...couldn't change this thing myself do not have the press or the tools for such a rusted bearing...
