I think it is time (or close to) to replace some of my clutch components. I have about 90K miles on my car and had it for about 5 years now. What I've noticed is that when I am going for quick acceleration, there is some reciporical jerking when I'm at the higher RPM's, especially in 2nd. The timing of the jerking is similar, but the force is not as severe, as the jerking you would feel a person driving stick for the first time. It feels like all of the power is not being transmitted to the wheels at these intervals.

This is my first manual transmission car I've owned, so I don't really know what to phyically expect when the clutch starts going. I can only think of one or two times I've owned this car where I created the wonderful clutch burning smell on this car, during the 1st year I owned it.

If there is another diagnosis for this problem let me know - I'd also like to replace the clutch with something better than standard parts if there is something available. Any advice at this point would be great.
