Default hooked up another amp.. weird noises now

when i press on the gas, theres a whining sound coming from the speakers, (like a turbo kinda noise), and when i brake, theres like a clicking noise, like a static sound....

its only when the HU is on.. when its off, no noises.. any ideas?

Sounds like a bad ground... make sure there's no paint around the area.

"alternator ground loop" is what is causing the noise... I had the problem in my old Corolla and my Sentra... it's caused by a bad ground as mentioned previously and/or your power and RCA cables being run too close together. Also, make sure you are using shielded RCA's... it will do a lot to filter the noise...

im guessing you grounded the 2 amps at different places. Thats a no-no. Ground both amps to the same place, same bolt. Thats why they make distribution blocks for grounds too.

If you hear clicks, your ground wire may be too close to a third brake light or bulbs. BUY A GROUP LOOP ISOLATOR if you are lazy.

http://store.autotoys.com > SEARCH UNDER GROUND LOOP

You using cheap wire? Heavy duty amp needs heavy duty wire. THIN wires will create noise because you are starving the amp..

and dont turn those gains up too high, just match it and keep it just about right before distortion. It may play louded at max but you are amplifying noise too.

Always good to test your system with the car on before FINALIZING you run of wires to rule out noise.

Good luck and my weekend is over (sigh)
