replacing cd player , adding sub.. quick ?s
Hello.
well, i thought i'd post a few ?s i have on replacing the factory cd player.
I have a honda accord 2002 with the six speaker system and remote entry.
1. By replacing my cd player, will i lose my remote entry (saw somethign about it on a few sites, but only said with certain honda's 96 and up)?
2. I am planning on getting a new cd/mp3 deck and plan to use my factory six speakers and just want to add an amp and sub. Can i just purchase either a 2 or 1 channel amp for my sub only? Also, i just bought a sub, Sony XPLODE 10", how big of an amp will i need (the xplode specs are: peak power 1100watts, power range 80-300watts RMS)? Would a 150watt x 2 channels or a 400watt 1 channel amp work for me?
Thanks ahead of time for your replies..

1. No, that only applies to 96-98 civics.
2. Yes, you can just add a amp for a sub, it would actually be bad to add a amp to your factory speakers since they can ususally only handle about 40w peak. As for the amp, what you asked about should work fine. Don't just go by the rated specs though for an amp, talk to someone who owns one. Some amp companies have inflated specs for power output.

thanks a bunch!!
i can't wait to get my 'starter' system going..
my first time!!
one more question..
i've decided to build my own subwoofer box and have finally figured out the cubic inch thingy and so on.. but i want to build a pure custom box.
i want to make my box in the shape of a honda symbol H.
I want to just use a noraml retangular box and then sand down the top of it so to look like the honda emblem.. will this affect my box? should i use a thicker board for the part i want to grind, say a 1" board, and then use 3/4" for the other sides.... also, how do angles in the box affect teh sound....?
thanks again!
