94 Accord Receiver Install
Bear with me, this is my first car stereo install.
So I'm installing a Sony CDX-MP40 into the 94 Accord. I have all the wires coming from the sony unit to the wire harness that I bought. I did not solder, cuz I was just testing it. I have the ground coming from the Sony unit to a piece of metal. I turn the key it comes on. The unit is not working properly so I go to reset it. I try again and it powers up, works properly, but I do not have the antennae properly placed to test the tuner. I go back to plug the antennae int he back of the Sony Unit and it does not power up at all.
After several attempts, I try to redo the connections, still doesnt work. I notice that the clock does light up either. I go to check the fuse box. I dunno if you guys are familar, but I check the 18th slot and it happens to be blown out. I go to replace it and try the Sony unit again and it still doesnt work.
Anybody have any ideas? Could it be a electrical malfunction? Is it a costly thing to fix? Couldit be the Sony unit? Any suggestions?

Suggestion...go back and check your connections. A simple error that newbies make when installing HU for the first time is matching the wiring diagram. On the bag which the wire harness came in is the color coordination instruction. I bet you that you didn't connect the audio wires correct, causing no sound and shorting something. Good luck!

Thanks alot for all your suggestions. I finally gave up and went to circuit city. According to the guys installing it, they said some wire dealing with the car electrical. Dunno, but everything is working and I'm glad about that. Just sucks that I think I did a proper install but had to cough up $60 cuz some was loose.
