Default laptop mount: trying again

i asked this question in probably december when i bought my car. basically what i want is a long arm that has a metal plate that will support my laptop. Ideally this arm would connect to the bolt on the front of my passenger seat and support the laptop flat on top of the passenger seat or just in front of it.

anyone seen anything like this?

wow ... never seen anything like that. i think you'd need more than 1 arm though. the sheer weight of a laptop would bend it. unless it's one thick ass bar with alot of braces.

i can picture something like this....the arm of one of those desk lamps with a few bends and a plate mounted on one end, and something to bolt onto the floor on the other.

thatll be pretty nice, since it can retract out the way when not in use.

ive never seen it on sale or anything, but im sure it shouldnt be that hard to make.

h: i know what you're saying now. i thought the bar would come from the floor of the car, under the dash. i was thinking that the angle of the bar, with the lap top would never hold up.
