Do the fuel pump. It's more effective, and by the time the thief figures out that it's the fuel pump with the kill switch, he'd have to make a scene tearing up the back seat to get to the pump, then either trace the wires or rewire it himself. Either way, it will hopefully make him feel really uneasy about being in your car and leave.
