Default Infinity components: flat vs contour

Hey folks,

So I'm trying to get these Infinity Kappa 60.5cs components I just installed to sound a little better. Do any of you know what the difference is between flat and contour setting on the crossover? Thanks in advance.

Okay, I have an amp that is powering the components but no equalizer. Maybe I should be more specific in my question. What is the sound difference between flat and contour. Will contour give me more or less midbass? Cleaner highs? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I seriously don't know the difference.

According to Infinity, "Custom Contour, if enabled, will reduce the midrange output from the system, resulting in more perceived bass and high frequency."

by the way, I have mine set to flat without an amp or eq. They sound great just using the eq in my head unit.

I tried the contour, but missed the mids that it took away, so I switched to flat.

With just about everything audio related, you'll get your most natural sound if you are dealing with a flat response.
