The best amp ever built is an Adcom.
They stop making them about four years ago. Not making enough money on the product versus cost and all. They made a 75x4 amp that was capable of doing 2000x2 at a .5 ohm mono load and that is real power. Not the ratings they have now where an amp can be rated at max watts rather than rms idle watts. Kind of like with a head unit. The post someone had about the magazine article is kind of skewed as well. I worked in the industry for about five years and you start to notice things like the winners are usually highly advertised in the same mag. It is the nature of the business or any one for that matter. I have Adcom in my car and my home and love it. I have never had any kinds of problems with any amp and I run the car amp pretty hard. I realize the title of the thread is subjective but it is my opinion and I am looking for others who have ever had any chance of using them.
They make/made absolutely AWESOME home power amps, I know this....hook one of these two channel amps up to your two channel speaker system in your listening room, and your sound will be drop dead gorgeous; would blow any receiver or integrated amp into the shithouse, for sure...
