Who makes the best head units?
 

So who do you guys think make the best head units?

define best.

by my definition, i vote alpine and pioneer. btw, i didnt vote. :oh:

best = sound quality, design, company reputation.......:)

Out of that list, Clarion. Only the ProAudio, the low end is crap. Alpine's got some great decks too :thumbup:

Sound quality more has to do with how you have the EQ set up and what speakers you have. Who has the best design is a user preference. Company reputation? Rep for what?

but from that list i would say alpine/Kenwood

does nobody know about eclipse? best pre amp voltage i've ever seen, and there "nob" is sheer genious

Kenwood is good, too.

Outside of the list, Nakamichi, Eclipse (eh... sometimes problematic) & some old Denon decks.

Clarion HX-D1 -- not the D10
Alpine 7909 -- (with a few choice mods)
Clarion 9255 -- (same as a mcintosh mx6 blah blah...something)
Denon DCt-Z1 <---- my choice as the best cd transport/DAC in one chassis combo around right now...
