i'm just not satisfied wtih the highs in the front. the speakers are mounted so low, and the tweeters aren't angled, so I can barely hear the highs. It just doesn't sound that crisp, and the speakers in the car produce a lot of bass, which I want to keep.

So I'm looking to bring the highs up so I can hear them more, and so I wont have to lower the bass levels.

where should I mount them? I was going to put them in/around the triangular panel (1998 accord) at the front of the door, where the window meets the door.

However, I've always been told it's important where tweeters are, and their proximity to the ear. So why don't I put it on the door right under the lock, so it'll be right next to my ear? I've never see any cars with the tweeter there, is there a reason why?

The problem with having them up in the doors which is where they are in my car is that becuase one speaker is so much closer than the other is that the image is pulled towards the closer speaker. Idealy it would be lower and aimed up like in a kick pannel. That way the length to the ear is nearly equal to each speaker.

Tweeter right at the ear would not be good.... Especially when you crank it....
