That's f-ing hilarious!!! You have no clue about TRUE SQ then. Yes I've heard DEI subs, I sold them for a year and a half...TURDS! They sound like crap, last as long as a Neon on the bottle, and hit as hard as an infant with a rope. But hey, what do I know? I only used to sell the ****!! Ignore me, listen to this obvious intellegent person. He's wise in the ways of Car Audio...but hey, I'm sure DEI subs sound better than Focal, Velodyne, JL, Image, etc. huh? friggin' Best Buy people.........
Why are you returning them..? Why dont you try wiring up those subs with that amp.
You can go to the JLaudio website on how to wire the subs up for a 4 ohm load. voicecoils in series and then wire the 2 subs parallel.
As for wiring up the amp... if you want to hook it up to your OEM player.. I'd suggest and time/effort saved buy getting an aftermarket deck with preouts.
I'm too lazy to look for some sites that show amp wiring diagrams...
and as for Toxis' comments on your subs.. well that's his opinion.. he didnt need to be an A-hole about it....
I have heard DEI component speakers.. their studio series... their subs I have not had any experience.. and maybe you will like them.... the other brands he mentioned might be out of your league... if you want the best they have to offer...
Adire shiva, edesign k series could be another interesting path to look into... these brands are respectable as well as the ones mentioned by toxis... but pricewise they are within reach.
checkout thezeb.com, sounddomain.com, carmedia1.com, etc.. for online places to look into.
and these websites for info and get a overall feel for brands and what others think of them... elitecaraudio.com, caraudioforum.com

Just an observation, but these are pretty basic questions you should be asking BEFORE you run out and buy stuff. What are your end goals? Plan your system. Ask questions. Do some research. Know exactly what you want and don't settle for anything less (or more). Do you want an all out competition system or do you just want something better than stock that sounds nice? Good luck.
