Default Building a box....sunk in

Over the X-mass break I will be attempting a "spare tire well" sunk in box install. I've never build a box but I have had experience working with the materials. My question is:

**I have two 12in Pioneer IMPP's running from a Fosgate 360.1 **

A. What type of wood is best? Thickness?

B. width and hight of sub chamber shouldn't matter as long as the multiplied amount of space required is acheived???

C. the cover.....eh...still deciding if I want plexi or wood...Im not the most experienced with plexi but I have used it before (sculpture class in college)

D. Is this well even enough room? 5th gen (95 civic cp EX)

E. Anyone done this? Boughten a pre-made setup like this? Pics? worth it? I want my trunk back damn it!!

and that is all

a- mdf for cover, and of course fiberglass for the rest
b- make sure its not too shallow. the magnets need a few inches to breathe.
c-wood is easier to work with.
d-i sure hope so.
e-i havent. but JL audio makes a box like this for their subs.

use MDF as the base (structure) (frame) of the box, then FG around it

for 12s, the baffle should be at least 3/4" thick if not 1". if you located the baffle even with the trunk floor and it turns out not to have enough air space, just build yourself a 4-sided frame to lift the baffle off the trunk floor and gain more airspace...also build the frame if the well is too shallow. when fiberglassing the well, make sure it conforms tightly to the walls (ie, no flexing) and you probably want at least two layers of mat. you might want to lay down dampening material before you glass the well...if you do dampening after you glassed, the tub will no longer fit tightly.
