i would also check that panel i mentioned above, just pop the panel off and check behind it for clearance.
I highly doubt that will be an issue

put them in the upper part of the door panel, in front of the door handle... and paint the grilles to match the vinyl... then they blend in... my friend did that in his 98 accord... looks really nice, and they are hard to see when looking in the car.

Or you can cover the mesh grilles and trim ring with beige-brown grille cloth...
actually, the tweeters in a component system are supposed to be as close to the mid as possible. I personally don't think that's too low to put the tweets, hell, if I had some Q-forms they'd be even lower, and not only that, but being that my leg doesn't cover up the top part of the speaker grill/door panel where I'd be putting them, I think the sq/imaging will be better. I don't have a stock grill to put them behind, I have an LX. Im gonna put in my Kenwood DualMags and see how they sound with a competent amp running them and the eq/line driver to tweak the frequencies a bit. I might not have to add separate tweeters cause when I had the DualMags in my Civic running off a cheap-o-special Koiiler amp, it sounded sweet. I can only imagine it's gonna sound even better w/a Soundstream Reference 414S and Clarion EQS560 in the loop:naughty:

True, the tweeters should be close to the mid... but the top of the door is not too far away.

The stock grille I was talking about is the grille in the door... that guy mounted the tweeter just above it, and I meant if the tweeters are going to be that low, just drop them another 2 inches and put them behind the door grille.

bassmechanic has a good idea... that panel just dosent look like it belongs in that car.

Yeah, I don't think the top of the door panel is too far away either, but it will be in plain view which is what I'd like to avoid. I figure if I mount it low like in the pic I posted that it'll be more out of sight, while still giving me good imaging. As for the grille, I thought you were referring to the stock tweeter grill location for the EX modelsh: But now that you clarified that, you do have a point. Yeah, I like the sail panel tweet location, looks nice, out of the way, and if you are still able to adjust the angle of the tweets, a good place to put them. But I have to agree with you, that panel stands out like a sore thumb, I think it's cause it's too shiny The texture is about right.

i used black vinal because the sail peice there was black. the interior of my car is ebony and i think if i had used that color it would have looked wrong. you could always use some grille cloth across it because grille cloth actually looks very similar to textured ABS plastic. and the sound would go right through it.
