Well I have that sony deck. I also HATE XPLOD, however that deck is realy nice! Looks good sounds good has good fetures! BUT it only has 2V preamp outputs! I bought a EQ/LINEDRIVER from clarion for $60 shiped from new york that fixes that thoe!

well,, the xplod h/u i had was a CDX- sumthin,, had 7 band eq built in and everything else,, but the alpine 7874 kicks its azz through and through. so i am happy again,, still want a TV/dvd though......

i have its high end mp3 deck, CDA-7995, and it was made in China i believe. i don't think any of the alpine stuffs was made in japan. like i said many many times, u can't go wrong with alpine deck.

nah, i saw the box of a 7897 and it was made in japan.
