New Viper Alarms w/ SST
I just wanted to let everyone know we've had three of the new Viper 160XVL Keyless Entry/Remote Start come up defective. We're doing a 5900 here soon so we'll see how that goes.
The problem is that it will start the car and instantly kill it. You'll run diagnostics and it will say that you shut it off with the remote.
Might be a wise idea to wait on getting one of the new Viper alarms.

viper are good units, havent had any problem installing any so far. Dei are also good units. If your car run and shuts off, check if u got tach programmed, hood pin wired correctly, brake wire connected or any door switches that may be connected incorrectly.

lol crap, didnt kno what i was talkin about for a second. my mistakes viper = DEI made, check if the transponder unit is working (bypass kit) because i know on compustars, when you use the datalink port and the unit starts but bypass isnt programmed correctly, it will say that you "turned" the starter off.

This was done to a Grand Am with Passlock. It required no bypass. We ran it tach and voltage sense. No affect. The units we're bad.
The 5900 went in without a hitch.
