98 accord. front speaker installation

Default 98 accord. front speaker installation

im going to take out the stock and put in apline type r 6 1/2 on the two front doors. i know the window may interfere. how do i avoid the speakers not to collide with the window. I also would like to know where i can buy (online) the plastic case or plate the goes on the door before i put the speaker. size 6 1/2 ofcourse

I just made MDF Spacer rings to space my speakers out a bit. I think eBay even sells pre-made MDF spacers.

what year type R's are they?

this years models wont interfere tey are shallow enough. or should be...they fit in my 91 teg

You should check the mounting depth of the front doors. I THINK http://crutchfield.com might have that information.

Like what totalimmortal said...you can make your own MDF spacers if needed.

i know alpines will not fit in my 99 accord they are almost half an inch too deep try the polk db series they fit

i bought it in 05. i used to have it on my 97 accord, and the window did scrape a bit but not a lot. and the stock speaker for 98 accord is less wider than the alpine. i think it will touch but not sure if it will not allow my window to go down all the way.
