Default Blinker issue

My 89 Olds has this wierd problem. The warning signal for the blinker comes on right after I turn my blinkers on. Previously it was on a 10 second delay but now the moment I turn the blinkers on it starts screaming at me. I think the timer is screwed up... anyone have this problem and is there a quick fix? (It gets annoying when you are sitting there and it goes *ting ting ting*)

We did something like this in class. We found the problem to be a wrong bulb in the tail lights.. The socket called for a single filament bulb and someone gave it a double filament bulb.

And about the timer. There's really no such thing. It's called a directional flasher. It's just a big circuit breaker..
