98 Civic (aftermarket cd player) Lost keyless entry and dome light. Please help
What's up everyone one,
I just recently installed my aftermarket cd player(alpine) out of my old truck into my 1998 honda civic ex. I read online on a bunch of fourms before I installed it that you would lose your keyless entry and dome light. I was wondering what I have to do to go about fixing this problem.... Someone please help me.
Thank you,
Brian

you have to buy a reverse harness and splice it in???
Any info you can give me on how i can go about doing that?
I just want to be able to listen to cd's, I should have to lose my keyless entry and dome light (that's fucking bullshit). My first import headach!!! My Ford ranger never did me wrong!!!!!..
Please give me more info...
So i can go about doing this process.

a few threads for you to read
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...=civic+keyless
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...=civic+keyless
and a how to here
http://installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/PDF/466013.pdf
basically the stereo has the keyless controller in it, so you need to retain power to it for your keyless entry to work
you will wire up the new stereo like normal, then either splice or buy a jumper harness to wire up the stock hu with just a few wires, then you will hide the stock hu behind the dash or wherever you like
there are tons of threads and info on this, its a pretty common thing for people with 96-98 civics to do, and any car stereo installation place is aware of it
good luck, let us know if you need any more help
