Default Looking for a new HU... and suggestions?

I'll be buying a new deck soon and well i'm looking at price range under 300 dollars. Best decks in that range? I know Alpine will come up but what other decks are good? And any suggestions on where to buy? online or local?

Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion (if you can find a dealer), Panasonic has good sound quality, but their faces take some getting used to...

what are you looking for in a deck? MP3 capability? Changer control? XM/Sirius radio ready? How many pre-outs, if any? Certain type of display, like dot matrix?

Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion, JVC(make sure it's a DigiFine)Eclipse, and Nakamichi all make good decks. I have an Alpine CDA-7873 and I love it, I believe it cost me $299, if you can find it for that price, jump on it, you won't be let down.

The JVC Digifine units are TANKS! my brother has the kd-sh77... its awesome! it might be a little more easy on your eyes, they have a simple, classy look to them with an aluminum faceplate.

the kd-sh77 is no longer made, it has been replaced by a new model that is just as good.

Sound excelent! PLENTY of features for a GREAT price!
