wiring dual battery set up
Batteries blowing up, not from my install. I strongly suggest using some sort of isolater or a battery relay. Some people don't But most in the sport do when it comes to the main car battery. Why kill the main car battery? Now if you running multi batteries for the sound system and have more then one alt its not neccesary. But thats a diffrent story. And yes I have put two alt on a teg. If you can not afford to go out and by two new batteries then I strongly suggest you Isolate the two batteries. same brand, group size, cca sould be used if there is no isolater. I had a customer bring me his car that he did and used to diffrent batteries. I was tuneing his car and there was a bammmm. the over charged battery exploded. scared the shyt out of me. Now these batteries were under the hood. Imagine the mess in back of a teg in the trunk. or a custom trunk.
So the battery in the back was overcharged? How's that possible if the amp/amps were used to run off that? Shouldnt the front one be more vulnerable to exploding?
2x on the relay, if buying the same battery or buying two batteries is not an option.
WRX how did you go about finding the right belt size for the 2 alts? I thought about doing that when I can get hold of brackets and a new alternator.

We removed the ac and shoe hourned it in. same belt as the ac. My co owner does the metal modds. It was a spl car. The battery that exploded was the older one. After I turned down the volume 3 to 5 min later it blew. I'll see if my bro-inlaw has the bp to what he did. If so I'll shoot them to you. The teg was 8k rms. Not something to drive everyday and only had one seat. I'll find some pics of it. It was about 4 years ago
