Default Quirky CD Player (2000 TL)

I guess I should have looked into this years ago but I frequently find that compact discs will not play in my wife's 2000 TL. Most store-bought cd's are okay but there is the occasional one that will not play--the disc just spins for a while and then spits out.

I almost have never had any luck getting the player to play cd's that I burn on my computer.

Generally, if I try playing the problem cd in another car or another cd deck, there are no problems. It seems the only time I have had problems playing a cd is in the Acura. Are the Honda/Acura cd players much more sensitive than others?

Thanks,
Doug

Most factory radios up until not too long ago we're very picky about playing a burnt CD. So im not surprised about that. I'd go in the phonebook and find a place that will clean and realign everything inside the CD player.

what prgram are burning cdrs with, some units require a finalization after burning to play, also are you usuing cdr or cdrw because alot will not play cdrws, also check the format in which you are burning mp3 only, not mp4, wave,wmp,...

it also depends on the quality of media and burn speed.

spow the speed down and dont use cheap stuff.

I've tried various things with burning cd's--the highest quality blanks I can find, burning at the slowest speed, etc. Never had problems playing any of the burned cd's in other cars or players, only problems with the Acura. Moreover, as I posted, the Acura sometimes has problems even with store-bought albums.
