Re Xxx
I don't know if I'm asking this in the right place, but I will ask anyway. how would a RE XXX 15in sound in a house or in a home audio situation. Does any one have one of these?

please mind mishqua. he doesnt know what he's talking about.
tyler, if you can build you own box, i say go for it. it's possible and it will most likely shit on other woofers, as the xxx is an sql driver. if you do build your own box, tune it damn low; that's all i have to say.
btw, are you using a plate amp? what's the ohm configuration of the re driver?

It should be fine as long as the amp is stable to whatever ohms the sub is. Although I have no experience with that particular sub, id bet if you feed it plenty of power in a ported box tuned low it would rock. I run car subs as ht subs. It works fine.

yeah mine friend did it with his adire brahma 15in which has a similar motor. the box was mammoth. tuned to 20hz ported. i would probably use a plate amp like he did. any sugests there. sub is dual voice voil 2 ohm stable. i don't know if ill do it. I'm thinking it will be too low. my friends brahma just shakes shit you can't really hear it. i could tune the box higher though.

Just wondering as I have only heard of problems when doing this. Ac power will work on car sub with out distorting and or shorting the life of the sub?

Ac or dc only matters for the amplifier input. The amplifier will always have ac output to the speaker. This is how you can get a speaker to move back and forth.
http://www.bcae1.com/ # 31 shows how the speaker follows the ac waveform.
What kind of problems are you talking about?
