Default Shorted radio, but no blown fuses. Now What?

yesterday while cleaning my 2000 RL. A US dime fell into my cigarette lighter, and I think it shorted the radio. I've checked all of the fuses, and they are OK. The radio does'nt work, and I've never got the message from the radio to reprogram with the 5 digit code.

Any ideas on what could be wrong? How could I test or fix?

So the radio doesnt turn on at all? Is anything else out?

I am not too familiar with the RL's wiring layout, but on lower end Hondas, there are two fuses that can disable the radio. 1 is under the dash, and other is under the hood. Did you check all of the fuse boxes? And is there also a fuse that is right behind the radio unit?

You probably want to hear from someone who has experience with the car before you go taking apart the dash to access the back of the radio.

My accord has one fuse for the radio... one on the inside of the car and one under the hood. My fuse blew under the hood which blew out the radio and clock on the dash. If nothing else, you could always go get an aftermarket stereo.

^^ i agree with both of em.. check all the fuses.. for some wierd reason, the radio can be tied into something else other than the radio fuse.. there is usually a back-up fuse inder the hood.. a little 5 or 7.5 amp fuse..
