Default Alpine CHA-1214

Hey everyone,

I just got my Alpine CHA-1214 back from a friend and went to put it in my vehicle (1996 Honda Accord LX w/ CVA-1006 w/ AiNet). I plug in the unit and it doesnt seem to have any power. Also, when I press "changer" on my head unit, nothing happens.

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks,
Ryan

Have you checked all the fuses?

the harness may have been damaged :dunno: check the connections and see if anything is loose.

You should be more specific.

A good way to see if the unit is busted is to directly hook it up to the battery. Just run a short lead from the battery to the red and yellow power wire. Then ground the unit somewhere close and see it if turns on. Then you can go from there and start deducting the potential problems.

Jani: Everything seems to be connected.

latinracerct: No, it does not power up.

b00gers: I'll do that Saturday afternoon! Thanks!

Hey there. Totally new here but I did stumble upon your thread because I notice we share the same tastes in CD Changers. Don't know as much about any of this stuff as I used to but if it is indeed your "Changer" that is not powering up and not your head unit, then perhaps it is the signal wire that is bad.
