Default My Tweeter problem

I have a 2 1 inch tweeters. The one located on my drivers side door panel near the window has an issue. For some reason it doesnt work when its cold inside the car but, it starts working the moment the inside of the car warms up. When it is a cold day outside I wait till the car warms up then turn on the heater. I then point the vent in the direction of the tweeter and put my hand to act as a duck. It immediately starts working. However the moment I take my hand away it lowers down to the point where its off. It eventually stays on like the other tweeter once the inside of the car is fully warmed up.

I'm thinking it has somthing to do with the "Ferro-Fluid" thats cooling the voice coil of the tweeter. Anyway is there something I can spray on it to prevent this or does it just need to be repaired?

This is the tweeter...

Keep in mind that the passenger side tweeter works flawlessly therefore there is a problem with the driver side tweeter.

looks like one of the leads in the tweeter is broken... and when its warmed up, it expands and completes the circuit... :dunno:

No, pull it out and check your wires for a solid and tight connection.

I've got some kicker tweeters(R19), which look like yours with the same little crossover things, and it did not take much to blow them. In other words, yours probably need replacing. I sent them off twice for new ones while still under warranty. I've still got them in my closet, new and never used because i knew i'd blow them again. I bought some NB.1 Power Acoustik tweeters for a fraction of the price, and have yet to blow them on the same amp.

You could try switching the left and right tweeter to see if the problem follows. If it does it sounds like its the tweeter since only one does it. I would return it.
