Need input on factory unit with amp

You need to tap into the 12+ switched wire. It's the wire that pushes juice whenever the ignition switch is in the on position. I believe it is the yellow wire with the red stripe. After that the amp will turn on when the key is in the on position. Whoever wired that sh*t up is an idiot... don't go to him. Don't forget to pull any wiring he did when he put that switch in.

there you go, that's the RIGHT way to do it. people hook up aftermarket amps with factory headunits all the time.

ok i finally got time to fix my radio this past weekend. The problem was this guy had an extra wire connected to another wire which caused the power to feedback into the system when i have that switch on for the amp, thus leaving the amp on without the ignition key in it. I know i didn't do a good job explaining the problem but the important thing is i got it hooked up the right way by using the yellow wire and everything is normal now.
