In a (non-Honda) sedan, I had a Sony XM-3001 powering a 12" Kicker Solobaric. Sounded good but not great-Probably due to the subs in the trunk thing. I transplanted the system to a mid-sized (non-Honda) SUV-sounded better but still not great. I swapped the Sony amp with a JL 500/1-sounded quite good but still not great. With no patience left, I tore it all out and replaced it with a single JL 12W7 (sealed box) and a JL 1000/1-It now sounds excellent. I agree that Sony amps sound mediocre but they're so cheap that they are a good value for the average listener.
right now in my 3.0 cl i have one sony 1200w amp (deff puts out 1200 if you need it to) powerin 3 10' xplods. with a rockford power supply. its sounds great. the only way sony shit sounds any good is if all your shit is sony. i used to have a powerwedge by jL with 3 w2. they where nice but now that i have the sony head unit and the amp, with the subs it never over heats and never have i had a problem. ive had the new sony shit for like a month now and lookin at it; now if you get all sony shit for the price its the best. HANDS DOWN. i got the three subs, the 1200w amp, box, power supply, and amp kit, for 600. bestbuy what.....................
now its time to take a trip to cloud n9ne
