it does help because it will supply the extra power the amp needs when the battery can't. it will also help to keep you from blowing up a alternator

That is correct. Thats a caps entire job. To take strain off the battery/alternator. Once you exceed 120% of what the battery/alternator can provide, damage begins to occur.

Default about the cap

the hole point of the cap is that (this is comin right off the package) will stop headlights from dimming. if you have a cap in your system and you light and shit still dim, then somehow someway, your speakers are still pumpin to much power. either get another amp, or smaller subs. the cap is a power supply suposed to act as kinda a second battery.

two batteries and a cap are useless if your tiny alternator cant power/recharge them

Unfortunatly untrue:
A cap is a storage center for power, it loads and unloads faster than a battery, it is ment to slow the draw from the battery, Not to stop the dimmimg lights, it is basicly food for your subs/amp.

If you are looking for somthing to stop your dimming lights you need to run a larger alternator, and additional batteries.

Your car was designed to work off the battery it came with, not a system as well.

Thank u I was waiting to see the right answer to what a cap does. Was starting to wonder Also the cap will draw more power faster thus making your lights dim further.
