2 amps or 1 five channel?
ok so i got a 1997 Sol, right now i got a 4 channel Kenwood in it to power my speakers in the cab. i already ran a RCA line for the subwoofer. now my friend tells me 'instead of getting 2 amps, y dont u just get a JL Audio 500/5?" now here is my question, what do u guys think? is it better to get 2 seperate amps, or 1 five channel amp and run all my audio from that one amp? (if it matters, im planning on getting a 5 farad cap no matter which one of the 2 i get )
thankis,
Carlos

Since it is going into a Del Sol, I am probably betting that you have to be careful with the limited space. I would use a good 5 ch amp to save me the hassle of running 2 sets of wiring and mounting space. But IIRC, the 500/5 is a pretty huge amp. h:

The 500/5 is a fantastic amplifier. The only downfall is if you plan on using a big woofer you are limited to power, ~300 watts, but for a single 10 or 12 it is perfect. What speakers do you have? The front channels put out over a hundred watts so you will need some quality components.

Holy melted voice coils!
You aren't going to want to run those pioneers. They are good for deck power or an inexpensive amp but you will never hear your super clean JL $1000+ amp. Not only that but the front channels are 125 watts a peice RMS and the speakers are 50 at most. You would need a super clean deck to not cook those speakers. Your best bet is to take a look at like the e6450 and some good JL or Boston component speakers in the doors and coaxs in the rear. Unless, of course, you have the cash to get some better speakers and the slash amp but thats a lotta money.

Awwww. Sad to hear that awesome amp is going to power those Pioneers.
Ever consider putting a decent set of components in the front? It'll run you about $150-200 for good budget ones...but they will BLOW those Pioneers away.
