About all companies sell their speakers in pairs. So that is $200 for a set....left and right.

Don't mean to throw this offtopic. When did ED become so huge? I know so many people going with that brand now. Where are they in the spectrum of well known brands like JL, Alpine, Infinity, Focal, etc?

FARRRRRRRRR from JL, Alpine, Infinity. Maybe a bit more with Focal. But as of now, no one carries eD, but eD. (With one exception of a small company)

When I was searching for a new system, I came across names like eD and RE and went... Since that time I hear their name more often and often. eD makes good stuff for the price...I would love to own one of their amps.

eD is a far cry from JL Audio. JL makes (and we are talking resonable price - not Alpine F1 or anything) the best amps. Signal to noise ratio, damping factor, consistant power, every aspect. They sound the best and argueably are the best. Speakers are pretty good. I prefer Boston Acoustic for highend components. JL's subs are very good as well. W7 is the most accurate high excursion, high output sub I have heard. And the rest of their line is good quality for the price.

No, I wasnt comparing quality. I was responding to, "how did eD get so huge", in terms of popularity.

I think there are plenty of amps that are atleast as good if not better then jl even at the same price point. Its even hard to compare specs cause jl tests their amps differently then a lot of manufactures. ED is ok but its not nearly as big as jl. It gets a lot of reccomendation on internet boards. Its a small internet company. They have had their problems in the past. Even though i run one i dont feel particalarly loyal to them. I will try anything if i feel i can get better performance from something else. I feel that jl is gets all the publiciby becuase of shows like "unique whips" where they do celeb cars and stuff. What they want isnt nessarily what i want. So ehh jl is decent dont get me wrong but I defintaly dont think they are the be all and end all of amps. Just my opinion.

Yea I agree. JL is big enough to have a great marketing team. But if I wouldnt hesitate to use their amps or W3 or better subs.

My brother has owned a JL 300/4 and a 500/1 and both took a shit on him... That's my JL amp experience...

I still like their subs though....

In conclusion eD < JL in terms of quality for components, subs and amps?
