1. You need a circle jig and a router
2. How much air space is that for the woofer? It looks very small for 3 10's and not even close to enough for 3 12's. Maybe a pair of 10's would be better suited then you dont have to buy another amp. It is very important to the performance of the sub to have the proper amount of air space for it and not just put it in any space that the speaker will fit in. If your goals are just to be louder i would look at a better pair of 10's with more power/ better amp.

As for down firing, I wouldnt worry about it. People do it all the time in trucks where the box is under the back seats. As long as the air has a way to get into the cabin it should be fine.

i have the router, no biggie. the speakers need less than 1 cubic foot, and the box is like 11.25" x 15" x 11" per chamber it has 3 chambers, hehe. so, there is more than enough enough space. really, i'm juss lookin' for something fun. i found another speaker for like $40 on ebay. it won't take much work to change the box for bottom mount set up. it's all prefectly sealed, and MDF, so hopefully it'll work out & sound good. and i bet it'll be one of the only, if not the only, del sols w/ 3 subs right behind the seats

Maaan! You've made it way more complex than acheiving some drop should be!
My 2c: A single Kicker Solo-Baric, It truly doesn't matter which "S" model it is, they all slam in the SMALLEST boxes, they were designed for just that. Three woofers in a Del sol seems like it'd cause more actual headaches trying than bassin'!
Good Luck whichever way you go.

i'm using them, because i can't afford really nice speakers. i was gonna juss use two Alpine Type Rs, but they're 180 a piece. it cost me nothing for the box i made, i didn't buy the original two speakers... but the third one is juss because i want it a lil louder than my two were. i might juss use two, upgrade to 3 l8r, and use the center section to store something else. maybe add a lid to make up for the removal of the stock rear boxes.

well guys, i'll have some new pics of the box tonight. i'm heading out shortly to do a lil more work. i've laid the first few layers of fiberglass on the front, and it looks pretty good. a lil on the side, & top... and that'll be done. then it's juss a matter of smooting & prepping for paint. i opted for only two speakers. i might mount the min the box to give a better idea of the finished product. see ya'll l8r tonight.. hope i get some approval on it
